Cradle Setup

Cradle setup for the home or home office

  1. Plug the phone line that came with the cradle directly into the back of the cradle and plug other end directly into the phone jack in the wall. If you have the cradle plugged into a splitter, it may not perform as well. Remove the splitter and plug the cradle directly into the wall jack. If needed, you can plug the other device into the other port on the back of the cradle.

  2. If you have DSL internet make sure there is a DSL filter plugged into the wall and that the cradle's phone line is plugged into the filter.

  3. If you have Digital Voice (phone service through your cable internet provider) your key may not update reliably on that system. Call support to see if your computer would be compatible with a USB cradle.

Cradle setup for an office with a phone system

  1. In an office setting the best place to plug the cradle in is on dedicatated FAX lines.

  2. If the FAX machine is using the only jack on that line you can plug the FAX's phone line into the empty jack in the back of the cradle, then plug the cradle's phone line into the jack in the wall.

  3. If you have to dial a '9' to get an outside line when you send a FAX you will need to put a '9' in front of the eSYNC phone number. For instructions on finding and entering an eSYNC phone number go to Changing Your eSYNC phone number .

  4. The cradle may not update on a multi-line phone system because it operates at a different voltage than a regular phone system.
